Every door carries one word. Read all twenty-four in order and they form a sentence — and the sentence is a riddle. Work out what it's asking, and on the 24th you can knock.

What's inside — mostly a secret
Twenty-four cans, hand-picked across a wide spread of styles — nothing repeats, nothing is announced in advance. That isn't a gap in the description. That's the door policy.
Door one keeps its line blank here — the real one is printed on your box, where nobody but you can read it. Every door stays padlocked until its day comes round.

One padlock a day, December 1st through the 24th, whenever suits you.
Pour it, take a minute
One can per door, cold, unannounced. Say what you taste out loud before you open the next one.

The doors carry a line that only makes sense once you've read the whole of it. It's there from day one — working out what it's asking is the hard part.
Speak the password on the 24th — online
On December 24th a last door opens here on this site. Type your answer to the riddle. What's a Speakeasy?
In the days when alcohol was forbidden, secret bars known as "speakeasies" flourished behind closed doors.
You needed a password to enter, and only those in the know could cross the threshold. This calendar brings back that spirit.
This box borrows the rule, not the crime: closed doors, a line you have to work out for yourself, and far better beer than the originals ever poured.

What if I'm not home when DPD delivers?
DPD leaves a card with a redelivery option or a nearby pickup point — the same track-and-trace link in your shipping email covers both.
Can I send this as a gift, straight to someone else?
Yes — enter their address at checkout instead of your own. The recipient still needs to be 18 or older to receive it; the mystery stays intact either way.
What exactly is "the password"?
The box prints a line across its doors. On December 24th this site asks you one question about it — answer it and the last door opens. No hints from us before then, and none in this description either.
Can I order both calendars — Speakeasy and the Journal — together?
Yes — add the other calendar right on this page before checkout, in a single order and a single delivery. Individual beers from the Hoptimaal shop can't join an advent order, though — those are a separate order via hoptimaal.com.
